“This is a historic moment. The biggest Chinese tourism delegation we’ve received ever. We always highly value the Chinese travel market and this year we expect to receive 70,000 visitors from China.”

On the night of November 10, 2017, CNTA staged the “Beautiful China – Overland Silk Road” campaign in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, to promote China as a tourist destination.

The event was widely appreciated by locals. Catherine O’Grady Powers, the owner of Glen Keen Farm, said, “The event is spectacular. It shows us how amazing China is. I am deeply honored and very excited to be here. Glen Keen is one of the biggest sheep farms in Ireland and spans across 5,500 acres, facing the wild beauty of the Atlantic. Chinese tourists are most welcome to visit us to have a taste of local country life.”

The event gathered an audience of 300-plus, including representatives of 19 provincial tourism administrations and travel companies from Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and Tibet, Irish travel agencies, airline companies, hotels and industry associations, representatives of the Chinese community in Ireland, and representatives of local political, economic, cultural, educational and press communities.
